Last night I dreamt two times too. Noble, it is not only you that
know how to dream two times in one night. Unlike Noble, I didn’t devour a
plate of pounded yam. I suspect my dreams were as a result of the
discussion we had before I went to bed.
We were discussing the ban on the premier of Half of a Yellow Sun in
the country before I slept off. I remembered how we veered off from the
ban to discussing the leading character in the movie. All the girls in
our house are clearly admirers of Chiwetel Ejiofor . We went on and on,
on how hot that guy is. You needed to be in that room to see how the
four of us blushed as we discussed Chiwetel.
That was the last discussion I can recall we had before I fell
asleep. I didn’t know that the next sequence of events were just in my
dreams until I woke up. I was with a group of girls at a popular lounge
when suddenly Chiwetel showed up. He greeted us warmly and asked if we
could join him for some drinks; a request we all jumped at.
Before you could say Chiwetel, we were already seated, drinking our
favourite wines and chatting away the night. Chiwetel kept looking at me
as we chatted, “do you know how gorgeous you look?” Chiwetel asked me. I
almost passed out as he said those words to me in his Hollywood voice.
The rest of the girls looked on with disbelief written all over their
faces. “Have you considered modeling?” he asked again. He gave me his
card and asked me to call him if I consider modeling in the future. I
can’t remember exactly how the meeting ended but this next activity I
remembered very well.
I saw myself strutting on New York City Runway. Chiwetel was right, because I was the toast of the night.
After my first outing, a lot of world renowned designers were caps in
hands for me to sign for them. I pinched myself to sure I was not
dreaming. I was still trying to understand why everybody wanted me to
sign for them when somebody nudged by my side. “What are you saying?” my
elder sister asked as I opened my eyes. “How do you mean?” I asked her.
“You were talking to yourself before I woke you up” she told me. “Oh
why did you wake me up now? I lamented. “You have to take me back to the
same dream, I need to go back to that dream” I kept shouting at my
bemused sister
