The world’s oldest man, Alexander Imich, is dead at the
age of 111, according to a$$ociated Press, AP.
It was gathered that the late Imich, a retired chemist and
parapsychologist, died Sunday night at his home in
Manhattan, New York City, USA.
Imich’s niece, Karen Bogen, of Providence, Rhode Island,
said she had visited the deceased on Saturday. AP also
reported that Imich’s health had declined about two weeks
ago and he didn’t recognize anyone.
He was born in 1903 in a town in Poland that became then
part of Russia.
Imich and his wife were said to flee Poland after the Nazis
invaded in 1939. They eventually moved to the United
States in 1951. His wife died in 1986.
It stressed that Imich, in news reports, had said his good
genes and a general healthy lifestyle contributed to his
longevity.
Guinness is investigating the claim that 111-year-old
